Hello CUPies,

We have just established three new standing committees of the Canadian University Press’ board of directors. They are: Strategic Planning, Finance, and Administration and Resources committees.

As part of the board’s commitment to member participation we have decided to allocate six spots on each committee to delegates from member papers.

We are currently accepting applications for members to volunteer to serve on these committees.

In addition to the chair and vice-chair of the committees which are filled by directors, each committee can have two delegates each from the small, medium, and large paper size categories.

Our size categories for this year are:

Small papers: Budget in 2013-14 of less than $20,000
Medium papers: Budget in 2013-14 of between $20,000-$59,999
Large papers: Budget in 2013-14 of $60,000 or more.

If you would like to apply for one of the committees please email me a cover letter at chair@cup.ca by noon on Oct. 6, 2014.

Joining a committee is a great way to have your voice heard in the governance of CUP, gain valuable governance experience, and work with other student journalists and media professionals.
